Applications being accepted for medical center foundation, auxiliary scholarships

Applications for scholarships offered by the Greene County Medical Center Foundation and auxiliary are being accepted now through the deadline of April 1.

Students in the medical center service area who are entering, or already attending, college in a healthcare-related field are eligible for as much as $1,000 for up to four years through the foundation scholarship program. Applications and supporting documentation are reviewed by a scholarship committee and recipients are notified in May.

In addition, the medical center auxiliary offers up to three $1,000 scholarships to individuals in the medical center service area who are pursuing a career in any medical/healthcare-related field. In addition to the application, references and transcripts, the auxiliary scholarship requires a 15-minute interview. For the auxiliary scholarship, applications and supporting materials are also due by April 1. Interview appointments can be set up immediately.

Additional healthcare scholarship opportunities are available through the Iowa Hospital Education Research Foundation (IHERF), an Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) subsidiary.
